'He called me an idiot gorger': Pregnant Danielle Mason opens up about her Big Fat Gypsy break-up from traveller Tony Giles

When Danielle Mason fell in love with a traveller, people said it wouldn't last.
And sadly, as the glamour model opens up about her split from Tony Giles, it looks like they were right.
Danielle has told Love It! magazine that the relationship that saw her featured on My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding ended after a bitter row on Boxing Day.

The petite blonde, who is six months pregnant with their second child, featured on the show with Tony last year.

 

But the couple were unusual due to the fact that Danielle is not a traveller, and because she and Tony had a child out of wedlock, something which goes against the community's culture.
And it seems that it's the pull of their respective cultures that has proved the downfall of their relationship.

After months of tension, the couple's issues came to a head on Boxing Day, and Danielle told the magazine that his slurs about her being a non-gypsy were the final straw.
‘He’d say: “You’re just a stupid gorger [non-traveller],” and I don’t want to be spoken to like that, especially when I’m pregnant,' she said.
Speaking from her rented two bedroom Berkshire home, Danielle says that the relationship caused her to start to behave in an unusual way.
‘He’s pushed me so much that I don’t like the way I’ve become. To be honest, I’ve turned into a bit of a nutter. I got so mad with him, I pushed the Christmas tree over,' she admitted.

When viewers last saw Danielle and Tony on screen, they were deciding whether to have a £50,000 wedding in the UK or to have their nuptials in the more discreet surroundings of Las Vegas.
But it seems like they will never get to enjoy their dream wedding.
‘I thought Tony was different to other traveller men, but when you’re pregnant, the men think they can control you and say you can’t go out.
'The thing is, Tony and me really do love each other, but he’s really stuck in his traveller ways and I’m stuck in my ‘gorger’ ways. I won’t be the sit-at-home housewife he wants me to be.’
